Hi, I'm Cappy Shapiro
I work with trans, queer, questioning, and non-binary people of all ages and their families.
Before landing among the evergreens in Mason County WA, I wandered awhile. My first job after graduating from Smith School for Social Work was at the Utah Pride Center in Salt Lake City where I led support groups and provided therapy for LGBTQ youth, adults, and their families. I became more invested in working with families after seeing amazing people struggle hard from the many harsh outcomes of family rejection. Families who unite and struggle together in support of one another inspire me. I have seen great resilience.
I live a dream life I never could have imagined as a kid.
I love getting outside and playing in the trees and the dirt with my toddler. I am a novice beekeeper and gardener, and an expert laser tagger.
In addition to counseling, I am a licensed social worker in Washington (LIC#LW60842485) and I work as an outreach social worker in my local community.
